Wendy Carrig was a photography student in the mid-1980s during a time of great social disquiet in Britain. Coal miners were striking against pit closures, and peace protestors gathered at RAF Greenham Common to demonstrate against the installation of U.S. nuclear missiles on British soil.
Common People is an exhibition of photographs taken by Wendy Carrig while she stayed with women protestors at Greenham Common's Blue Gate camp, during a particularly harsh winter. Her photographs show how simple domestic life continued around the campfire.
